RaceBuddy ONE – Firmware Update
Update your device via microSD to get the latest features and improvements.
Download the Firmware
Download the latest firmware (1.0.5) package (ZIP), then follow the steps below.
File inside: update.bin
. Do not rename it.
Before You Start
- RaceBuddy ONE device (powered off).
- MicroSD card from your device.
- Computer with SD card reader.
- Downloaded firmware ZIP.
Important: During installation, do not remove the SD card or cut power. The device will power off automatically when done.
Quick Steps
update.bin

to the root of the SD card (not inside any folder).File Placement
Place the file exactly like this on the SD card:
SD_CARD_ROOT/
├─ update.bin ← must be here (root)
└─ (any other folders/files)
Do not: rename the file, or put it inside a folder.
After Updating
- Reconnect to the RaceBuddy app and open Device Settings → Firmware Version.
- If the version matches the release notes, the update was successful.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
The device didn’t update.
- Confirm the file name is exactly
update.bin
(no extra extensions like.bin.bin
). - Ensure the file is in the root of the SD card, not inside a folder.
- Make sure you extracted the ZIP and copied the bin file (not the ZIP) to the SD card.
- Safely eject the SD card before reinserting into the device.
How long does the update take?
Most updates complete within a short time. The device will power off automatically when finished. Do not interrupt power during the process.
How do I verify the new firmware?
Open the RaceBuddy mobile app, connect to the device, and check Device Settings → Firmware Version.
